The discussion will specifically focus on succession planning and business transactions, and estate planning considerations and strategies related to these events. \n \nBrooks Gallagher is a Managing Director in the Global Banking & Markets at Bank of America Merrill. As a member of the Investment Bank Brooks heads up the Private Sales Referral Network (PSRN), an outsourced investment banking model that arranges business sale, merger, acquisition, capital raise, ESOP solutions and recapitalization services for companies with enterprises value between $10 million and $250 million. In this role, his team works closely with many areas of the organization, including Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, Private Banking and Wealth Management. Brooks holds FINRA Licenses of 7, 66 and 24.\n \nRebecca Smitherman, JD, was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2002. Her practice areas include Estate Planning, Estate Administration & Corporate Law. Rebecca is a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law, North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. Rebecca is also a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.\n \nR. Brian Steen, CFA, ASA, has over 25 years of experience valuing closely held and public companies.  Prior to forming Steen Valuation Group, he was a leader in the valuation group at a top 20 accounting firm.  While at his prior firm, Brian grew and managed a valuation team and was responsible for the review function for valuation issues for financial statement audits. Brian has extensive experience preparing business valuations for estate and financial planning, serving as an expert witness in bankruptcy and litigation cases, and consulting with clients on merger and acquisition related issues. His practice specializes in valuing equity interests, intangible assets, and complex securities.  He has worked with many companies across the financial institution, manufacturing, healthcare, technology, wholesale, retail and service sectors.\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n
