His real expertise is in navigating area health & housing resources for seniors, and connecting the people who provide them.  For over 20 years, Bob has published a Directory of these resources, now trusted by over 2,000 industry professionals.  His “Tours” of area services have become a favorite learning experience of Internal & Family Medicine Residents, Geriatrics Fellows, Hospital Case Managers, Social Workers, and many others.  Along the way, he has helped to create several industry groups that promote collaboration and education. He is the Founding President of HIPSS (Healthcare Industry Professionals Serving Seniors) and the current Co-chair of the Winston-Salem chapter of ACAP (Adult Children of Aging Parents).

With a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Education, Bob has a background in both for-profit and non-profit settings.  Before entering the world of Senior Health and Housing, he worked at The Children’s Home providing family counseling to troubled teens, and their families.

Bob is married to Louise Cain.  She served as a Medical Social Worker for Hospice before home-schooling their two children.  Now adults, Christopher is a Chemical Engineer; and “Miss” Katherine is a Special Olympian and a constant source of joy to all who know her. The Cain’s have also welcomed several gentle giant rescue dogs over the years into their home.
